Draft Central 2010

During the draft this weekend we will use this space to update Leaf draft pick selections and their league stats and player info and any trades that may go down during the weekend.

Also we can even post all the rumours that are floating around the net as well.

Leafs Update Central – June 13, 2010

The 2009-10 NHL season has come to an end, and (like I predicted in pre-season) the Chicago Blackhawks have taken home Lord Stanley’s Cup, leaving the Toronto Maple Leafs with the longest current Stanley Cup drought. Not to fret though, as Brian Burke and his team of trusted advisors are exploring every avenue of correcting that little problem within the next few seasons.

The next three weeks will determine much for the Leafs future, and Burke has his hands full. Lucky for him, he has the likes of Cliff Fletcher, Dave Nonis, Dave Poulin, and Claude Loiselle helping him make the most of it. The draft is fast approaching, and therefore so is the trade window in Tomas Kaberle’s contract, as well as Free Agency.

Leafs Update Central – Feb. 2, 2010

I’d like to welcome you all back to Leafs Update Central. I apologize for my absence last week and I’d like to thank Keon for filling in admirably for my weekly round-up piece.

As you are all well aware, Brian Burke made two very big moves this past Sunday and tonight we will get our first glimpse of that return in Blue and White. I hope you’ll join me and the rest of the Leafs 4 Life crew in the Live Chat at puck drop.

Faith restored in the mecca of hockey

I sighed as I reached for the remote as the Canucks surging offence took the lead for the first time in the game, telling myself it was over. This mess of a team had lost multiple games in a row and couldn’t hold a three goal lead, with former Leaf sieve Andrew Raycroft in goal for two periods and injury call-ups for half their defensive-core to throw salt on the wound.

Never could I have imagined that anyone on that team could bring in some return that could change the face of the Leafs.

I never could have imagined what Burke actually accomplished.
